Anna Bauer is a Berlin based photographer with strong ties to New York, where she received her bachelor in photography and was lucky to work for photographers like Jenny Gage & Tom Betterton, Matthew HRanek and Adam Friedberg.
Bauer’s project “brothers” led to the National Portrait gallery Photography Prize in London. One of the judges hired Bauer to photograph London Fashion week, which turned into a 5 year project and the book “Anna bauer backstage”, designed by fabien Baron, published by Angelika Taschen. the book launch was held at the New Museum, at corso como Milan and Cameraworks Berln.
when Anna Bauer wasn’t shooting for various clients or working on her backstage Polaroid Project, she could be found at the famous Gleasons gym in brooklyn. She boxed. sweating away and Training with Heather “the heat” Hardy or legendary Hector Roca. She sparred with usher at one point and Kanye west wrote a song about a conversation he and Anna had in the Parisian woods. Victoria Beckham and her team hired anna for years, a great working experience.
in 2014 she moved to Dublin and Glasgow to receive a Master in Fine art. Since 2019 Bauer livees in Berlin and became the owner of “Kota” her White Californian dog with whom she drove 4500 miles/ 7000 KM in March 2022 through the united states. the adventures included shady Motels, the experience of driving along the mexican wall at 10.20 pm and being gifted a metal bar for self defense.
